Hi, I saw a silver pitcher marked 525 on it. I'm sure it's silver and or plate. Would this be worth buying at the thrift store for 7 dollars. It weighs about a pound US.

525 is an odd mark. Are you sure it wasn't 925 and were there any other marks on it? If it is sterling, it is worth a bunch ($100+). If it is silver plate, it is almost worthless as scrap. Last time I went to the scrap yard, I got them to give me brass price for silver plate: $1.10 per pound. Some places will try to give you less...like pot metal prices, but I had 200+ lbs of brass with me so they were flexible.

yes pretty sure it said 525. Also another one said silver over 18% nickel? I wonder what that one is.
