We used to "sand" Pennies down on the side walks/curb until they were the size of Dimes to put in Coke machines. 1961 Second grade. It took less time/effort than hunting for Dimes and retrieving them from in the storm sewers. |

I have gotten the matching play money pennies sorting for coppers in the past.
I also got a whittled down penny sorting dimes, the TCF machine counted it as a dime, so I got my money back.
With 2 pennies, somebody spent the time to roll them down to the size of a dime. The rim is thick!

I’ve also managed to accumulate over $60 in Canadian dimes and almost £1 in 5 Pence.

No, I gave the other one to my nephew. I pulled the '09 and dime from my pocket for comparison purposes.

| I always put the canadian dimes back in the return wrappers. If not, I too, would have a bunch. |

That Canadian dime, the one that is 10 o'clock to the 2 Pfennig, what year is it? I tried enlarging the pic but it got too grainy too fast. I can't tell if it is a '66 or a '68.
If it is a '66 it is 80% Ag. If it is a '68, check it with a magnet. If it doesn't stick it is 50% Ag.
You got a George VI Canadian penny south of that 2 Pfennig...

| There looks to be a 1966 (or 1968) Canadian dime. It is 80% silver (or if 1968 50% silver) |

If it sticks to the magnet its not silver. Is that what you were asking? |
