From a numismatic standpoint, is there any future for these quarters a couple years from now?
When the states and territories quarter minting completes this year, will these coins really have any value if the demand for them eases?
I know that mintages were low for the Puerto Rico quarters, and likely mintages for the Guam, Samoa, Virgin Is., and Marianas are said to be limited by a two month mintage window at the mint.
What opinions do you all have on these?

My son and I are getting the territorial Ps for his statehood quarters book (Dansco, just the Ps), solely because there are extra spaces at the bottom. 
Some collectors don't care for this series, but I ain't ashamed to say I like it. There are some really neat designs in it, and it looks really nice in a Dansco album. That's what collecting is all about, buying what you like.

1962 - 36,156,000
1961 - 37,036,000

How many of these quarters got melted in the past? When comparing mintages for these common date silver quarters to the Territorial quarters I think I would rather have the silver ones. |

| Sometimes the mintage of a coin doesn't seem to matter as much as you would think. It's all about supply and demand. If there is no interest in a particular low mintage coin or series it will not bring much premium. This can also play out as a high mintage coin with high demand bringing a high premium. |

The National Parks series of quarters starts in 2010: 5 designs/year. The program will continue until 2020.

I'm pretty sure that it was approved. I'll have to check again to be sure. The Mint is going to keep the quarter program going as long as people keep buying.

Jadedragon...I wish you success in finding all of our state quarters. I never really collected them, but my brother did. I only keep the ones from Tennessee that I find as they have a fiddle on the back of them. Love that design.
I too am looking forward to the new National Park quarters. Even though I haven't collected the state quarters, I have greatly admired the various detailed designs whenever I have come across any of them.

| I have no intent to pay $20/roll or more for the territorials, but do admit to saving those as I encounter them. Not exactly plentiful. I've been seeing lots of the earlier dates of the State Quarters in circulation (nearly unc condition). I suspect that as times are getting tough for some families, the stash of early quarters from circulation or TV coin show purchases is being raided for everyday expenses. Lots of speculation on the territorials, but I'd rather buy US 90% silver or rounds with what I'd spend for those with no intrinsic value. |
Here in Wisconsin, we have some of the highest property and gasoline taxes in the US. We're squeezed so much, I have to make my daughter wear penny boxes for shoes. At least she has an endless supply. |
