My step-father always give my 3 year-old daughter his coins in his pockets when he sees her. When he did so today, I found a 1948D wheatie in the pile. An hour later, I was at my father's shop telling one of his customers about my find. He pulls out his change from his pocket and I dig out a 1928 wheatie from his pile! He gave it to me. I went to the bank to make a deposit. Before I left, I had the teller sell me one penny roll. Maybe I get lucky 3 times today......

A wheatie is a copper, but a copper is not a wheatie. Reminds me of HS math: by definition a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not a square.

Sorry dude!

As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?

Possession is nine-tenths of the law.

When I give my two cents, they're always copper!

I guess what I should have said was that I pulled 14 pre-1982s out of the penny roll.

When you're typing about Pennies you must endeavor to be semantically precise, otherwise all sorts of wild ideas begin to formulate!

There's profit if you melt things!!

28% copper pennies is a good ratio.

There are still a lot of wild wheats out there.

You don't have to be the BEST you just have to be.......SLICK

And alot of us prefer cent over penny. Just kidding-- I don't want to start that debate again.

I found 3 interesting finds today.....While at my Dad's shop, I ask my Uncle to let me inspect all the pennies that he was carrying in his pockets. He hands me his change. Out of all the pennies, I found 3 zincs, 1 1977 copper, a 1944 Wheatie, and 4 of the newer Lincoln wood splitting pennies. Of course I kept the copper, the wheatie, and 2 of the new Lincolns!
