I think I'm going to go remind the CU I'm interested in that Half bag that is supposed to need changing soon. I might just open account with them so I can fill it and check for Ag.
Nice count out of three rolls |

Yep, I just happened to be at the right place at the right time for those 3 CWR's. I wish it was that easy every time.
With all the talk of those "Dream Boxes" here and on the Treasure Hunter forums, I just have to keep asking the banks to order Half boxes for me. I just wish I had $2K to play with. Oh Well, Silver Santa Season is just about to begin ... |

| Drive-by today. Teller had $1 in halves. I said, what the heck, I'll buy them. One of them was a 1966. So, that is like a 50% yield. The Mrs. J. Springer brought home today two bike Ikes and a 2006 D Kennedy half. The past 6 half boxes have been skunks. Eventually the definition of insanity will have my picture next to it in the dictionary, but I will sort more. |

Even with the limited halves that I can get at my local bank (Im stationed overseas in Germany). In $32 that I searched...one $15 roll and anorther $17 roll I found 9- 40%ers and 1 1976 S (Proof). Such a nice coin but it was scratched on some parts.
I managed to get information on who has been turning halves into the bank and it seems like some German lady has been turning them in. This is interesting because all the rolls Ive been getting are the same so this lady must have quite a few rolls. Only thing that sucks is that my bank cannot order coins and if they get halves it is from people turning theem in. Only thing that sucks is that my bank cannot order coins and if they get halves it is from people turning theem in. I have a feeling that my only source may be running out of halves

$230 in CWR's tonight. Nothing but Skunk.
To add insult to injury; I got told by my main dump location they're are going to start to charge me $4.00 a box to dump a coin, Pennies to Halves it don't matter. Good thing I have a few back ups, not to mention the CD's I have at the main branch and good relationship I have with the manager. I think I'll try a power play to keep dumping at the branch location. Oh well, there's always tomorrow... |

I just got my second Brinks bag ever. These are clear plastic-2 handles. I get mine from US BANK, and they had 9 bags a day ago, and have been letting them go at 1st come 1st serve for the 9 names on the list, mine being one of them. The last bag I got was 30%+ 90% silver, and I found a colonial connecticut copper in there to along with a trade token from 1700's. That bag was before they had a list and I bought they're bag that took 6 months to fill up. I wonder of the 9 bags what the others looked like. This one I saw at least 5 1967's through the bag, and tons of half dollars with red and black lines (lots of local searching going on it seems).
I will post my results in a couple hours. |

Dam it! It was supposed to take me a couple hours, I did it entirely to quick.
here are my results:
out of 1000 half dollars I got
32- 1965-1969 silver clads 1- 1971 (very weak strike on reverse- missing ATES OF) worth anythin? 1- 1972 "uncirculated" condition with a knockout rainbow patina. 1- 2001 d "brilliant uncirculated" condition. 1- 2004 10$ peso. 1- 2-sided Geo. Washington medal from the 1970's. (ladies chain belts) 1- Jeffco auto pride brass token 2- scrubby duck car wash? tokens 1- beat up 1981 Lincoln cent. (I would save this, but I want to see if it gets counted as half when I return it to the Brinks sorter, from whence it came.) 7- Various dated (2000 & later) US Washington Quarters. Whoopee!!

| I also bank at US Bank and every time I ask for the half dollar bag from the coin counter they say that they cannot sell them to me. I am told it must go to their own coin supplier ( Guarda?). The same story is told at all the banks and C.U.'s that I stop at. I dump my halves about every 2 weeks at an out of town bank and would love to be the first to get my hands on the local halves. Any suggestions on how to get a $1000 bag of halves? |

I've always been told the same thing, but I made of point of being the first customer in a new Commerce (TD) branch opening and opened a checking account, so I got the first account opened at that branch. I'm hoping I can get the asst. mgr who opened the account to let me buy the half bags. |

They either let you buy the bags or they don't. Keep looking for institutions that will let you buy bags. One place I get to buy bags is from a bank where I don't even have an account. |

after they would not sell me coins, i joined a cu . then i found out about the counter. asked the asst magr that did my paperwork about buying the bags... said no one had ever asked. guess that makes me first in line.
when i go back tues. i will have to ask how full they are, and when i might get to have them. |

If you do, let us know. I just use Commerce (TD) as a dump, but if I could pick up there too, that'd be great. |

Well I went to another military bank to dump my $30 in halves and I asked if they had any rolls...no luck but I also asked them if they had any loose halves and sure enough they had a couple. So I checked the dates and to my amazement there was a shiny 1987 D which I quickly picked up.
By the way how much do they go for??? |

Here's a update; The upside is the asst. mgr I spoke to today says she is willing to sell the bags, and even get some from other branches if it is allowed. The downside is she says she's not sure if she is allowed but she will look into it and find out for me. Keeping my fingers crossed! I know of one branch where a LOT of silver gets turned in to the counter, I'd love to have those. In that branch I once scraped the reject tray and came up with 4 40% silver halves. |

| I started ordering boxes of halves a little over two weeks ago. Out of 12 boxes, I have found a 1970s proof and a 1967. I have had good luck with CWR's but I gotta stop ordering boxes. |

But you said MS 65... That would have to be a pretty perfect coin to be that high and most likely deserves that price tag. |
