Like many of you, I've accumulated a fair amount of proof halves that are dirty from fingerprints & whatnot.

What are recommended techniques to be used to clean proof halves?

Is acetone the only recommended cleaning treatment?

Does the proof finish protect the coin from damage by cleaning?

acetone is the only thing I would use. just pat dry and dont let the acetone evaporate while the coin is in there
