I notice that You must be logged in to see this link. is showing much more sensible premiums being paid these days for Gold and Silver, rather than the incredible preimums we have seen on ebay in the past.
I am wondering if this is down to some of "the herd" selling their gold bought "at any price" when financial armagedon seemed likely, are now selling back, now that percieved risk is receeding.
In any case ebay is now looking to me like a viable market for gold and silver again.
Just after some opinions really...

| I think the premiums have been skewed slightly because of Live.com's higher cashback. Sellers usually scam on that rebate... Thus the higher prices. |

| Thanks for the link. I am not that sure those premiums can hold if we do not get some movement in silver paper prices soon. I think most people are buying silver because it is a SHTF hedge. Hence seeing rolls of ASEs sold like toilet paper at a club warehouse or something. I think there would be a tipping point where the general public overbought on silver and get nervous about losing anything on it if prices start inching lower. We shall see. My gut feeling says to look beyond silver and start concentrating on base metals again like copper and nickel. |

Im full steam ahead on copper myself. Theres no better deal than getting copper below melt value.
Im in a holding pattern right now with silver/gold. Im currently thinking we are heading a few dollars lower and Im waiting a bit to buy more. I may start concentrating on gold (easier to hide). |

Can any of you figure out the angle on this auction:
You must be logged in to see this link.|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1309|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50
I do not know what to expect with the $10.95 sent per a lot other than 10 coins. The seller can not be making a mistake underpricing coins. |

| I read it immediately. Looks like paypal problem and no word of whether any of his coin sales were completed and golden for the buyer(s). |

| His sales pitch is BS. He shows a morgan for 8bucks, but says in his listing you might also receive something else. |

I've never seen such feedback in my life! LOL
Looks like most, if not all, of the "positives" are shills. |

Agreed; I only give positive FB when I receive the coins. Also, I tend to avoid auctions that offer random lots from an "unsearched" bag of coins. Its too much of a shell game. And the fact the he's bating buyers with a picture of a Morgan, makes it worse. This guy should be reported. |

Premiums are coming down because supply started to catch up to demand. Might be because of the stock market rally & the (sarcasm) end of the recession (/sarcasm) dampening gold/silver buying.
But, I dont trust this rally at all, so I'm pushing ahead with copper/silver prospecting. I've been buying only gold (when I can find it cheap) since I've been accumulating maybe 100 lbs copper & 60-70 toz silver per month. Nothing like hoarding cheap copper/silver to average your cost basis down. I haven't bothered with nickels too much because I think pennies are better overall. |
