| I bought a Cen-Tech from Harbor Freight. It is just what I needed and got it for $9.99 on sale. So easy! |

I bounce them on a wooden cutting board, or flip then á là George Raft style in the old Gangster Movies. There is a profound difference in the sound between 95% Cu and 95% Zn. I still want to get a digital scale to check some Halves, though. |

| I am supposed to be getting a digital scale in from Mr. Bong, from a contest on these forums. He got the penny 15 days ago, and I still don't have my scale... |

I have an AWS AMW-100 from ebay. Think I paid less than $20 for the scale.
I think many of the cheap ones are accurate scales. I used to "process" the 82s pretty quickly with this scale. I still use it for halves/gold. I just rely on the ryedale now for pennies. |

I bought a Cen-Tech from Harbor Freight and started to weight the 1982 cents today but I don't think this scale is accurate. Only a few cents weigh 2 grams, most weight 3 grams and the scale sometimes goes back and forth from 2 to 3 grams. I also pressed the tar button once as indicated in the instruction manual to that it would be set/balanced. If anyone has this scale does anyone get a different weight for the coppers and zincs? I read on another thread that the copper cents weigh 3.1 grams and zincs weigh 2.4 grams. I can't even get that weight on this scale.
Is the scale working properly or am I doing something wrong, any ideas? |

Just toss them in the Ryedale....

Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |
