I've been able to pick up small lots at 10x face here and there, but no where close to a bag...

2.50 over spot is about 10.5x face... I don't think you're going to find much better then that anywhere, especially for 1/2's

Hello,

I suggest that you put a Bid in on Bullion Direct's Nucleo Exchange. Top Bid right now is $10000. A Bid of $10050 would give you a chance to get a $1000 90% bag cheaper than the going market rate of spot+$2.75. At $10050 (+1%comm.) and at spot at $11.93, you would be getting the bag for spot+$2.25. That's about the best you can do right now; Tulving in California is paying spot+$2 for 90% bags.

The last $1000 90% bag on BD's Nucleo went for $10500 about a week ago.

Lemon Thrower,

Oober is right; the halves get even more premium. My previous post was for a bag of dimes or quarters. Half bags trade on the buy side for $11000 and up.

Lemon Thrower,

If you are still looking for bag of 90% silver (dimes or quarters), Bullion Direct's Nucleo Exchange has someone offering one bag at $10400 right now (as of 4/22-0915ET).

The only problem with BD is that you are going to pay the 1% commission plus shipping. So on a $10400 deal (for $1000 face) with a bag this big, shipping and insurance wont be cheap (depending on where it's going to of course, the rate will vary). It's an option, though but the delivered price will come out higher than he is looking for I am guessing.

The best "ask" on $10 face bags is $103.40 at the moment, so he actually gets a better price without having to buy $1000 face.

Just some things to keep in mind....

Since we haven't heard, maybe he's bought already.

CoinHunter - You're right on the cost of BD's Nucleo trade. The true cost of a $1000 90% bag of coins is $10400 (still available) + 1% + shipping = $10550. Going the $10 bag route will only give you 10 bags ($100 face) at the $103.40 (still available) price. Note the buy price right now is $10200 for a $1000 bag and $102.00 for a $10 bag of 90% silver coins, respectively.

Bags of 90% silver come in $1000 face I guess. Are they usually all one type of coin or do they mix dimes quarters and 1/2s?

If I assemble a full bag is there a premium over smaller lots, or a discount. Put another way, does it make sense to buy and break up a bag or to try to create full bags. I don't have enough of anything right now to make a bag, but I can shoot for that as a goal.
