Welcome to the club! I got my first one a few months ago...still shocks me to think that was in a regular old box of pennies that the bank gives out to businesses and individuals as change.

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

It's partly my fault that Misteroman found an IH that of course doesn't exist in the wild. I found an 1887 IH of my own last fall, then sold him my Ryedale. Sorry, Derek.

Naw, there are no wild indians. I've never seen one. That one just wandered off someone elses reservation.

A friend of mine claims he found one in his pocket change. I told him that didn't think that was possible (I figured it was some old foreign coin), but he showed it to me and it was an 1897 Indian Head in pretty good condition. This is great! I've searched through tens of thousands of pennies and I find one Indian Head that looks like it was run over by a train and my friend stumbles over one (probably very fine) at McDonald's getting his #@$#%z&$@ Chicken McNuggets. Unbelievable.

Oh BTW Congrats on your find. If you find one at Wendy's next week, just keep it to yourself, ok?

This is a new sort of voodoo with which I am unfamiliar. I just finished posting over in Mistero's "silly people" thread where he was still an avowed Rational Thinker after having sorted over 1million pennies. At nearly the same moment I discover this thread where he claims to have found a "wild" Indian. Heap big medicine going on to infect Mistero.

"Rich," the Old Man said dreamily, "is not baying after what you can't have. Rich is having the time to do what you want to do. Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark

I have been busy with work. But, I smelled an Indian thread and had to check in here. Sure enough, another sad fellow has been infected by the wild indian pathogen.

(congratulation misteroman)

Maybe you need to see the Medicine Man to retain your "Rational Thoughts"?
