So, would you complain to the bank? I don't want to tick them off enough to not let me order halves.

I'd only complain if I did not take the box out of the institution and sorted in the lobby. Keep buying boxes, sooner or later you'll have some that will come up over. The best overage I've ever seen was 13 $1 coins in with the full rolls of halves. |

Was 1 box that short or was it between the 3? Did you hand count them? Were they rolled or loose? It all depends on the situation. If It came from 1 box I would mention somethng to them NOT COMPLAIN but mention. Just say hey, just so you guys know 1 of the boxes was $4.50 short.
Complaining doesnt get you anywhere since you cant prove anything. Just simply be nice about it and see what they say. |

Hi there-
This happens to me a lot on dimes, but usually it's because the dimes are BENT.
-Did you get any silver in the boxes? If so, JMO, but I'd just eat the $4.50. Consider it "leakage."
-No silver? Might be worth it to POLITELY mention it. My dad kept getting boxes from a certain plant #, and they were short, so the next week they gave him a different # and he got some silver. Could happen 2 u.

Only when they CAN'T have it, ......THEN they'll want it.
I love Cents. If you get an UNC box, you win. If you get a regular circ. box, you win. If you get a zinc box, you don't lose....so you still win. |

| I've been getting rolls lately that "look" shorter than others. Sometimes it's the paper wrapper not being fully rolled around the ends. Sometimes it's the halves themselves are thin. Sometimes the roll is short one. Sometimes there's an extra. I think it all evens out over time, and over numerous boxes. Win some, lose some, life goes on, we find silver... |
As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?

| Thanks to all who replied. There was one roll that was visually evident that it was short. It was short 3 halves. There was another roll that was 2 halves short. The rest of the short rolls had one halve(one coin) missing. The deficit was spread over all three boxes. Last week, the boxes were $1.50 short. I am gonna examine the boxes more closely when I get them next week, BEFORE I open them. I am gonna stick a pencil in the holes and see if it goes in to far on any of the rolls. Thanks again. |

no. it's one of the costs of playing the game. if you make a big deal out of it, the bank may decide it's not worth the trouble to bring halves in, since they're already paying $5 per box.
you could just short a roll here or there with your return rolls. It happens. |

There is an armoured service here that can't count, my dump bank wanted to service ME fully so I let them try. First two boxes were CWI, the next weeks boxes came from American- 2 boxes= $8 short total. I went in and explained the situation and if they couldn't guarantee CWI boxes change my order over to $1K dimes. There are shortages with CWI also but as stated there also overages and it kinda evens out- all apart of the game. HH Mark Wanna get really excited, find a box short rolls. One of my pickups really gets boxes in bad shape, a couple are usually all taped with packing tape. Twice there have been 2 boxes retaped, one short 2 or 3 rolls and the other one over the same. I told my teller I thing Brinks is screwing with us. |
