Was thinking about it earlier and thought might as well put up a post.
I know some of you just sort to turn around and flip and with a good buy bank, ryedale, dump bank you can make a tidy little some doing it.
I sort mainly for a "saving account"I don't like keeping much money in the bank and this is a really easy way to put away some heavy cash!!
Others?

Buying CU cents!!!! Paying 1.2 unlimited amounts wanted. Can pick up if near Ohio area.

Nah, we sell to sort. Once you build up a big enough pile you have to sell some of it off to get more capital to build your hoard even bigger.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

I sell some for fun, and because some of my disadvantaged (because they can't get enough) hoarder friends insist on buying up pure Canadian Ni and high grade Canadian Cu Bullion. I feel it is my duty, in the interest of good international relations, to help fill the demand from my meager pile. With the American economy going down the tubes I want to do what I can to help people put away some real money in the basement.

“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” – George Bernard Shaw.

I started sorting 6 months ago and haven't sold any yet, but eventually will. Right now just building up a stash while the precentages are good.

I will be honest. I sort to sell, KINDA. What I mean is that I have been sorting Pennies for about a year now for just the wheats. Then realized that coppers were selling for a premium also. Unfortunetly the whole time I was sorting last year when copper was high I was sending them back into the wild. I look back now and realized what I missed but its to late now. I also spend all of the funds from the copper on other bullion or rare coins. The main reason I just don't hoard the copper and wait for the price to climb is mainly storage space. Not that I don't think copper will have a better return percentage as gold or silver, I just dont have the room to hoard large amounts of copper so I sell then, turnaround and re-invest in something else.
Thanks,
Jason

I have no copper to sell....

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

All of my copper cents, cupronickel 5 cent pieces, silver, gold, and ammo were all lost in a tragic boating accident last month. So I have nothing to sell. :P

Seriously though, I do sell some when I can make a profit but I like hoarding as much as selling. So not much of the hoard has left my possesion.

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

I have been crunching numbers like a vodka sick accountant and I keep coming up with "THIS MAKES SENSE"
I would like a perspective on the reality of it, understanding that there is WORK involved (not afraid )and
some investment. But what is a reasonable return considering copper prices stay the same or go up, for those of you that sell,
is the market wide open, is everyone focusing on Ebay? And can you earn a decent amount per month without running 5 machines, so off of say one machine and a couple thousand dollars to start, tons of free time, how much is realistic based on experience to net over a month or week or whatever, just curious, no need to answer every silly question I ask.
thanks,
jman1237

I'd rather eat out of a garbage can and collect aluminum and pennies than work a REAL job!!!!!I'm kiddin I work 2 jobs
but I'm self employed so it doesn't count and I get no GOLDEN HANDCUFFS!!!!!

I have quite a bit stacked up but I guess I don't plan on selling any or at least very little until I can get at least 4 cents a piece for them. There is just too much work involved to sell them at 1.4 or 1.5 cents a piece.

COPPER - the "poormans" precious metal!!!

SELLING - $100.00 face copper shipped to you for $189.00 machine rolled or bagged - PM me if your interested.

Ditto. Keep the wheats, sell the coppers and reinvest immediately. I have no patience like that. I'm into numismatic pieces and other bullion.

As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?

Possession is nine-tenths of the law.

When I give my two cents, they're always copper!

I collect them just to hold them.

I have been hand sorting for about two years. The more active folks here sort lots, but so far I have $125 in copper cents.

For me it is worth having them. I have a few silver rounds, but gold is too expensive. It amazes me how much money some people here go through. My budget is too tight to do more.

For me it is both therapeutic and nice to have some “real cents.”

Awake, O kings of the earth! Come ye, O, come ye, with your gold and your silver, to the help of my people, to the house of the daughters of Zion, to the help of the people of the God of this Land even Jesus Christ.

I had to sell some after shoulder surgery last November, but that was more from need than want. I tend to look at all my PMs as a savings account. If I absolutely have to, I can sell it pretty easily.

Are you throwing that out?

I sell off a lot of my copper pennies. I try to hold onto the silver and gold. The pennies are sold to pay off a bill. Once it is gone the pennies will be saved for my daughters college fund. Since the house and all the vehicles are paid for I won't have anymore debt after this bill.

You don't have to be the BEST you just have to be.......SLICK

Really just starting to really hoard pennies but I'm kind of looking at it as a good long term investment but push came to shove I would let go of what I had 2; but unless something bad happens planning on hoarding until I have to pay for my daughters wedding! (she's 19 mnths. so still got a while I hope)

Same here Flbandit. To me, it is a hedge against inflation and deflation so I prefer to hold versus selling.

For now I'm sorting and keeping the copper. Hopefully copper will go up high again and I will sell some of it. I sort by hand as I can not afford a Ryedale now but I enjoy looking at the coins. Never know what's in the rolls.
