I bought the 2005W $50 Platinum American Eagle today. Its mintage is reported to be only 846 in the 2009 Red Book. It's listed as being worth approximately $1,800. I only paid $800!?! Did he confuse this coin with the 2005 Unc. version of this coin (listed as $850), or did I just get a great deal?

No answers, so I went searching all last night. Seemingly another "Official Red Book" mintage error? Why even bother with that book?
