Recently the banks have had a HUGE number of people asking for the 2009 LMC. In the last few days they have changed the story from they are waiting, to they have been told, flat out, they will not recieve them, have to order from the mint. 8.95 for 2 rolls. Is this going to be the future of "coins", i.e. we will have to pay a premium (read tax) to get them? They sell us credit, will they sell us our money next? As CC likes to say... What say you?

Every bank I've asked for '09's has told me they are unable to order them and I have to wait until they circulate.
I'm inclined to think there's a conspiracy at the Mint not only with the LMC's, but the Lincoln Silver Dollar too. |

| Not to be too picky, but I don't think they're LMC (Lincoln memorial cents) anymore since the reverse is now a log cabin or other upcoming design. I don't know of a good replacement term, though... |

| The head teller at one of my banks would do anything for me (so if she was able to get them, she would). She told me that Brinks will not be getting 09's-- period-- in the area I live. Ill have to wait for some to just happen to be in circulation before Ill see any 09s here. |

Ten days ago I switched from Brink boxes to $50 dollar bags. No ’09 Lincolns out of the two bags I have sorted. I live in central Illinois “The Land of Lincoln”.
My copper percent went down a few percent, but the bags are so much easer.

I have managed to come across 118 obw rolls so far and geeze has it been a real pain to find those. I imagine if I started hitting up every bank in town and not just the ones I have accounts with I might be a bit more successful. I also ordered the "5 2-roll set" max oder from the us mint and they sold out almost immediately. I managed to score a unopened box Friday (went for 335+ shipping) on feebay. It's been a nice week so far for me with those 2009 cents have profited 1000.00 this week alone. My wife thought I was nuts for hitting up 22 banks in one day but it finally paid off. I guessing people aren't finding these too easily. I have found 7 2009 so far out of 2 regular circulated boxes. I'm guessing someone out there in my area is getting a fair amount of them if they are already starting to pop up in the returned cents!!!

Chant...I'm from Central Illinois too. I've found a bank that has gotten the pennies and I was able to score a roll. Not more than that though. It was an outlying bank and the main office wouldn't sell me any rolls. They only get like 1 box per week and distribute to branches.
On the distribution of the new pennies. The official word is that brinks won't get them till circulation. Well duh they don't get their coins from the fed anyways! If a bank would go out of their way and contact the fed bank in your region directly they will be able to get them. A bank can request specific items. Still looking for the boxes though. No one willing to order them. |

| I got two rolls from a bank I go to a lot. The teller likes me cause I clean out her change stockpile! I go to many banks and that was the only one that's had any so far. Most say they aren't getting any, and the tellers say they haven't even seen any. |
Are you throwing that out? |
