I always hear about people finding cans or keeping them for the scrap yard. But us folks in Deposit states do not have that option of finding many cans for scrap, because they have up to a 10 cent bounty on their heads, making it darn near impossible to find them.So which one would you pick?
a) A non Deposit/California State where cans roam like the buffalo and your able to collect them to return to the scrapyard
b)A deposit state where most carbonated drinks to even water or juice can be worth more clean or uncrushed (except Cali). There are some times you find them laying around but the locals here are keen to keeping such things off the street.
I wish all states would have a deposit. There sure would be a lot less littering! Besides, In my non deposit state I have to find 20 pop cans to get the same result a person walking in CA or MI have to find a single pop can or platic bottle. So I'd be willing to bet you could make more money or at least save time can hunting in a deposit state.

Desposits are economically inefficient and bothersome. I'm glad I've never lived in a state with one - its just another tax on the people since obviously not everyone will recycle and even if they did, they are being forced to do something to get their money back. Its wasteful.
