Hi all-

OK, so after taking a complete hiatus from pennies for 6 whole months, I get $100 worth from Brinks boxes just for the hey.......

......1888 IH. Makes this my second ever.

(applause applause)

wags

Only when they CAN'T have it, ......THEN they'll want it.

I love Cents. If you get an UNC box, you win. If you get a regular circ. box, you win. If you get a zinc box, you don't lose....so you still win.

Nice. Time to get back in....

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."
- Samuel Adams

Do most people stick with one denomination (e.g. Buffalo Hunters stick with nickels only, copper nuts with cents) or do most of you go with whatever is availalbe?

As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?

Possession is nine-tenths of the law.

When I give my two cents, they're always copper!

I like to mix it up-I buy all the Canadian Nickels I can, but also do a lot of pennies because they are easier to buy. Sometimes I'll try dimes and quarters too. I also grab US 1/2s when I cross the border.

How do you get rid of your halves? I'm having trouble unless they're rolled (PITA) because no coin machine I've seen accepts 50 cent pieces. :(

Roll 'em or drive to the closest coin counter.
It's all part of the game, you got to play by the rules, PITA and all.
If you're lucky you can get banks to give you wrappers, if not you can make them out of a brown paper bag.

If you're really lucky, your personal automatic coin rolling machine will roll them for you. Some machines will, and some won't. Fortunately the Glory WS-21 does.

I mix it up too.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

Hand wrapping 2-4 boxes of halves a week is a bit much for me, even for the silver value I'm not sure it's sustainable.

That "desktop" beast costs a small fortune! No info on what denominations it handles.

2 to 4 boxes of Halves by hand a week is about the norm for me. I have the wrappers ready to go and slide the dross into a wrapper as soon as I've eyeballed 20 coins.
Wrapping them is faster (for me) than unwrapping.

HCBTT's "toys" would be nice though!

Nice! Congrats, I found one VERY worn Indian Head cent last year...barely readable. I think it may have been found while metal detecting and put into a roll because of the terrible condition.

WOW! I would love to find one of those some day. Was sharing with my mother about my penny saving and she told me she had a 1880 something penny but wouldn't let me see it. I think she must have been afraid I would try to talk her out of it. Some day.
