I've scoured the 'net and my local army/navy surplus stores. A few friends in the military have offered to "borrow" a few cases for a decent price, but I wouldn't want to risk them not being able to return the items once borrowed. Any suggestions?
As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?
'Borrowing' is basically stealing. They won't miss any MRE's. They let thousands and thousands of cases rot and go to the landfill. Most of the time you just gotta ask and they'll give you some.
None of us here should advocate stealing anything, especially since it's illegal, which is why we're advocating preparation, preparation, preparation. Having said that, you can make your own personalized sort of MREs by dehydrating your own food, much cheaper than buying standard MREs. Check out this thread:
SO, what about the retail MREs? Are they better than the military MREs? Some of the new ones are interesting. I'd love a sampler to find which flavors are best. Thanks for the advice!
