I average between 5 and 8 Cannadians per $25 box in Southern Ohio.

And yes I keep them because there is nothing else to do with them until I get enough to sell. I have only about 300-400 so far.

I use to save all Canadian cents, but I stopped about a month ago. Currently I am saving all King cents. I found a 42,44, and 49 just this week. Maybe I should save the pre 69 cents. I find a LOT of Canadian cents in my area.

I usually set aside 67's and pre-65's (young elizabeths, kings) and keep 65-81s separate from the sided 82-96 coppers. When I find american pennies I set them all to the side at first and search for copper later.

Yes if they are Copper. I dump the 1997+ as they are zinc or steel. I have a few saved now - maybe a ton - I need to get a scale.

I just sorted a $25 brinks box and got 89 Copper Canadians with the oldest being a 1953.
Buffalo NY has to have more Canadian pennies than any other city in the USA. I've never seen so many as I am now.

Total Canadian Copper cents in two Brinks boxes is 128. Numerous junk Canadians also but this is just the copper.

I save the coppers Canadians...will be looking to trade them for copper LMCs to build up my stash of those. I don't see a lot of Canadian pennies but the ones I do see are mostly copper (ie pre 1997) & not zinc

I think I only have maybe 75 cents to a dollar's worth of Canadian copper pennies right now but if you're interested in a trade PM me :)

I toss my K'nucks into a small coffee can along with my wheaties. I'll probably sort them out when I get time. I would be interested in purchasing some or trading for elongated coins? If anyone would be interested....

Nice info slick...I save them by the above categories mostly:

1920-1941
1942-1979
1980-1981
1982-1996
1997-present

Looks like I need to separate out the 1978 and 1979's into their own cateogory.

Found my first "king" today. Not a penny though, it's a half dollar that came out of a bank box. Pretty cool, I had no idea canada had half dollars.

Mine is a bit more worn than this. It's a 1910 Canadian half dollar, the canadian equivalent of the US Barber half. Might be worth $15.

1870–1919
11.62 g
29.72 mm
92.5% silver

Still looking for my first "King" cent though. lol

That's a real sweet find!
I'd display it proudly as a tribute our Friends in the Great White North.
Make sure to post this find in the Silver Coins and Bullion topic section *Official 2009 Half Dollars and Other Coins thread so oober can add another tally slot for such a significant sighting as this.

There's profit if you melt things!!
