As most of ya'll know I am now getting bags from the CU near my house. The percent of copper pennies is about the same at 23% but the number of wheats has increased greatly. I rolled up 8 rolls from 3 bags. Thats 400 wheats out of 15000 pennies.
2.6% if my math is correct.
This CU is right beside where an old mill is. It was over 100 years old when they tore it down a few years back. All around it is old mill houses. Our house is an old executives house that was built around 1905.
I am guessing there are still alot of people who live around the old mill that worked there their whole life and are cashing in their change jars. Maybe I need to buy a bag of quarters, nickels, and dimes and see what I can find in those. I will be asking for the halves every week till the bag is full.

| I agree with CoinHunter. I think my wheat percentage has gone down also, which surprises me I thought with the bad economy we might be seeing more pennies that have been sitting on top of people's dressers for years in their coin cups. |

Slickest,
GO TO THE BANK TOMORROW and buy all their half dollars for sure!!!!!!
The older the community the more likely it is that they have older coins. Times are getting tougher for a lot of people so if they have these jars of coins just sitting around, thats usually what is first to go. People simply dont know how much stuff is worth, or simply dont take the time to find out. People are getting lazier and lazier so its simply easier for them to just go get the cash and be done with it |

| Mine are way up. I'm getting big numbers of wheats from the city banks. The poor community banks are where all the change jars are being cashed in. |

Copper is up a little, but I don't pull the wheats so I'm not sure about those.
Deal |
Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

I haven't been in the game too long, but I average about one wheat per three bank rolls. Is that close to what you all are seeing?
On a side note, it would help to know what city/state/region everyone is from in a forum like this. I was thinking of putting together a graph/table to determine which state/region gets the best percentages. Interesting idea worth exploring... |
As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?

I see slightly fewer per box, but still a very respectable percentage! I'm hoping more people don't catch on to roll hunting... |
