He must mean it is far worse then we think.

From the article-

"A smidgen of good news and suddenly everything is doing great. A little bit of bad news and ooohh , we're down on the dumps," Obama said.

This proves Obama doesn't know anything about how Wall Street investors think-
'buy on the rumor, sell on the news' is the old Wall Street slogan that many investors have either read or heard about and many practice religiously. What does he expect, investors will keep buying in spite of all of the bad news out there?
Its easy to be confident in the stock market when your money isn't at risk.

Will The United States of America end up as the New Imperial Rome?

HUMMMMM stocks are so cheap they are giving them away. So snatch up a bunch across the board this week. Stock market goes up...next week sell. Make a few bucks, stock market losses 300+ points in one day.

Obama...I will save or create 3Mil jobs over...the next how many years. Lets do some math. He creates 3M jobs in one year. Economy causes 6M jobs to be lost in that same time. At a cost of lets say 1.5 T dollars for all the money dumped into the black hole. Each job created.....wait on it.......

$500,000 for each job......and while this is taking place 3m more people are out of work.

Sounds like a great deal to me.

It would be comical if it were only a movie....sadly, it is all TOO real.

Lordy - one day B.O. talks up the "Worst Economic Crisis in 70 years", then later turns around and tells us it's "not as bad as we think"...this, after flushing the stock market by 25%.

Ones wonders what he really does think? Maybe he just has no idea.

Trust the government? Ask an Indian.

I am absolutely sick of the sugar coated lies we hear from anyone of authority.

As for the recent recovery in stocks the main catalyst of its major rise last week was congress put the mark to market issue to the forefront. Stopping mark to market tells me it is OK to lie on the balance sheet then I guess it wouldn't be as bad as we think given it appears we can perpetrate fraud again.

Obama was getting pressured from his advisors to tone down the negative talk. So that is what he did...

Exactly, its obvious he shouldn't try to sugar coat our situation, but at the same time if he was to tell it like it really is, its just going to perpetuate it and possibly make it worse. I mean I kinda feel sorry for the guy, would you want to be in his position? Right now it doesn't seem like he is helping making things better with this exorbitant amount of spending but he isn't the reason we are in this situation in the 1st place.
