Do you prefer your pennies in plastic brinks rolls or paper Fed rolls?

I prefer the plastic. I use a razor/utility knife and run across
it long ways. Don't cut all the way through, just enough so that it
"snaps" open and all the pennies fall into the ryedale. The ryedale can't keep up.

Drawback to plastic....static electricity.

Paper , I use needle nose plyers and grab the end of the roll on the ring and kinda roll the plyers and the end ring comes off. Flip the roll and do the same thing. The roll opens and out comes all pennies.
I have a large plastic cup to dispose of the rings and a trash bucket for the paper rolls.

I have done this method alot and can do it w/o touching the pennies with the plyers and hence not damaging/sratching them. It is slower than the plasic method.

You don't have to be the BEST you just have to be.......SLICK

Yes, it's awesome when you have five or six wrappers clinging to your fingers and you're trying to shake them off, isn't it? Ahhh, good times, good times!

You're working way, way too hard with paper wrappers. Break 'em in half over a bucket and the pennies fall right in. If Brinks bricks are wrapped in paper, you can go through a $25 brick in a few minutes. Shotgun rolls can go even faster--grab the paper's edge on the outside of the roll and pull as you push the pennies downward with your other index finger.

Plastic-wrapped rolls take a little longer, but all you have to do is bend the roll in the middle to start to squeeze pennies out one end, the grab the opposite end and squeeze the pennies out like toothpaste. I average 5-6 minutes per brick.

Bags mostly. Boxes when the banks offer them though. I break the paper rolls in half and push the coins out with a pen or something. The "condoms", I tear an end and squeeze. I take whatever they have, whenever they have it....

I do a lot of work with my hands and fingers at work, so I guess I have strong fingers? I don't know. It just takes a real small tear. Since I switched several of my banks around, the "condoms" come less and less. WHEN I get a box, it tends to be a Loomis box wrapped in paper. I actually prefer the plastic wrapped pennies as they are easier/faster to open for me.

I am with Deal. Once you get your hand strength and endurance up, plastic is way faster than paper. Rip one end and squeeze the other...no tools needed.

My wife does the plastic with a pair of scissors because her hands are not strong enough. She cuts one or both ends and squeezes. She won't touch the paper ones because they feel too dry.

My young daughter is the only that like the paper ones. She uses no tool and she is in no hurry, but she uses her small finger to find the end of the paper and she unrolls them from the middle not the ends.

I am lucky I get 10 bags each week from one bank and return the zincers back to another bank in the self serve coin counter in their lobby.

Found a couple of nice coins this week, found a 23S and a 14. Unfortunately no S or D on the 14.

COPPER - the "poormans" precious metal!!!

SELLING - $100.00 face copper shipped to you for $189.00 machine rolled or bagged - PM me if your interested.

I just did one box of plastic wrapped Brinks box. Opened the box and emptied ever roll into the Ryedale in 4 minutes.

That was using the razor blade method.

I use a razor blade and run across
it long ways. I Don't cut all the way through, just enough so that it when I flip the roll over and push on the center it
"snaps" open and all the pennies fall into the ryedale.

I use a razor blade at work everyday and have been for the last 18 years. I would imagine I have cut open 1.5 MILLION boxes at work so I feel comfortable with a razor blade in my hand.

I would not recommend everyone do what I do. I don't want one of ya'll telling me how it took 20 stitches to sew up your finger.

If you start getting those bags you can retire your at-home razor....

I've got a method for all of them. And each involves a butter knife. Plastic goes the fastest, then machine paper rolls, the cwr are the slowest.

I prefer the machine paper rolls because the are simple, and I get the best copper content from them, as the zincs from brinks that I can get wear jimmy hats
