Thanks to the member who posted me info on french silver coins, i speak Ok french so went onto the french ebay and found some of their junk silver 5 francs, which also look very nice, just purchased my first lot of 30, for just over spot price and thats including postage, really good value silver on there. Dont think it would be worth to the USA unless it was a big lot due to the postage costs though. Im in the UK

yes, heres a link to one i off ebay uk to see what they are like before i looked at getting a better deal on ebay.fr. The most popular seem to be the 5 franc coins, as they are of a fair size about 3rd of an ounce, and very pretty.

there seems to be a fair few lots on there that will ship internationally for the 5 francs, and they are selling for a good price. |

This is proof of the adage "knowledge is power" Somnophore. You have the knowledge of what French Coins are silver and bought them for a fair price, those who don't know that some French Coins are silver lose out on the opportunity to buy silver at a good price.
I once bought a silver Canadian Quarter for fifty cents since the seller didn't know what he had or its worth.
The educated buyer has the edge over the average buyer and usually finds the better deals. |

Word of caution silver buyers, 1969 was the last year these were made out of silver, 1970 on these were made out of Nickel clad cupronickel. Check the date if possible before buying. |

| Just mentioning the dates for other forum members Somnophore. Us Yanks are not too familiar with coins from across the pond. |

| For those of you that haven't seen these they are ever so slightly smaller than a silver half dollar, (5franc 1960-69) so a nice size coin not too small |
