I bought a box of dimes yesterday. It was a loomis box, the kind that always has some kind of stamp on the bottom. This one had no stamp. That should have clued me in, but all the sight holes had dimes in them so I figured everything was ok. I got home and opened the box and low and behold, I had all MS-65 2008 dimes. I swapped them out at my bank for some old dimes about an hour ago. Lets be careful out there. Don't get straddled with some brand new, high quality dimes, like I did.

Hindsight is always 20/20. I must have dumped 10 boxes of 2008 solid date pennies before I knew to keep them.

I saw an ad on craigslist recently for a couple boxes worth of new pennies for best offer, wonder if it might have been someone from here. I don't have many mint rolls but I keep whatever I get. If I got a whole box of dimes like that I would probably try to turn most of them around pretty quickly, can't really afford to keep that much searching money tied up indefinitely. If that was just the other day they might still have them, who knows?

At first I didn't notice that the links given to ebay showing a box of dime for sale for $350 was not a completed sale. It was just somebody trying to sell it.

It was a completed sale. See it lists the buyer?

Oh I feel sick I've had a few of those new boxes of dimes and returned them to the bank. Same with the new 2008 cent boxes. I didn't know people were buying them.
