I hear about people getting PMs and other nice things from circuit boards, chips, etc. What exactly am I supposed to be looking for? Is it worth the time? Do any of you do this?

Are there PM's in electronic scrap? Yes
Is it worth the time? depends on how much you value your time and what kind of access you have to PM bearing scrap. |

Easiest thing to do when stripping old computers and electronics is to toss the appropriate stuff in the steel pile, copper pile, and aluminum pile, then throw all the boards in a box and sell them on eBay |

| Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum. I got curious a couple of weeks ago and decided to send an envelope full of computer boards to Cash for Gold. I received a check for $1.00. They described it as costume jewelry. I never called them back to dispute the amount, I figured it wasn't worth it. |

| There was a post where one guy sent spray painted bolts into cash for gold and got a check for $1.01. Now you post that you sent computer boards and got a check for $1.00. I'm wondering if a person shouldn't request 1,000 kits, and put random things in them and send them in. They seem to pay a $1.00 for non gold items everytime. Might be a way to scam the scammer. As for your circuit boards, you have to find a refiner that will process boards. I had one that was paying $1.50 a pound for generic boards shipped. I didn't think that was too bad. Otherwise like natsb88 said. Get a box full, sell them on ebay. |
