The spark that starts an inferno? I can only hope.
I've been pondering what it will take to coalesce the disparate groups -- which comprise the majority of the populace -- who oppose the socialization of our nation. Maybe this "rant" will be (one of) the sparks.
Not everyone cares about 2nd amendment, or liberty issues, or societal decay or trade issues, but EVERYBODY cares about their WALLET!

Liberty, the Second Amendment and societal decay will become VERY important to people once chaos ensues after the economy finally collapses and the people demand their angry voices be heard. Whether TPTB will give a rip at that point, not that they do now, is a different story altogether. Best case scenario will be for sensible individuals to talk their fellow citizens into a state of calmness after TSHTF so that things don't become worse. One thing I am grateful for is that without the cooperation of the masses of population--yeah, maybe I'm putting a little hope in sheeple to get along, despite the odds--there aren't enough government agents or military to lock up everyone who has a bone to pick and is willing to take civilly about what can be done to keep the country from totally disintegrating. I guess we'll find out soon what the real odds are, won't we?

| Very entertaining guy. His words were also striking chords of liberty and personal responsibility. |
"Rich," the Old Man said dreamily, "is not baying after what you can't have. Rich is having the time to do what you want to do. Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark

Yes, that and Ten Bears comment shed a little light on something obvious, I hadn't seen quite this way. This is the result of the collective victim mentality, the anti-personal responsibility crowd. People can do anything, and if they fail, they're victims, not perps. Mortgagers who knew they couldn't pay but who felt society owed it to them. Bankers who knew they'd never be held accountable. Gov't sponges who know they never will be held accountable because they buy their votes. (And that goes for all the congenital idiots who haven't figured out when they get something from the gov't they're selling their votes for their own money) And the bunch of people who are being held accountable, the taxpayers, are not even being made to account for their own actions, but instead for the results of the actions of others. - And the not so funny part is, those who did everything right as rain are the real victims of the "victims". Nothing new here, just a new light on it. (My rant) |
