As this hohby has grown so much lately, there are numerous varieties of some coins being found. Small and large dates, RPM's, double dies, etc are being found continuously. Usually the different varieties are not real expensive though. You must remember that one of the largest reasons a coin becomes expensive, rare or searched after is popularity. For example the 1955 Lincoln Double Die. There are many double dies in the series but since that one is popular, it is fantastically expensive and everyone seams to want one. As to your coin. Unfortunately the Jefferson Nickel itself is not a really highly sought after series so such varieties are also, not real popular. Note in the Red Book, for example, there is a mention of your large and small date 41S, but no difference listed in price. In VF-20 that coin is priced at less than a dollar indicating not much value in large or small mint marks. |
