Have we ever discussed a code/mark on our rolls and boxes to signify that they have been sorted? I keep hitting penny rolls here in the US and nickel rolls in Canada that I know have been sorted. I Canada I find rolls that I know are manual sorted and rolled looking for the 99.9% Ni content coins.
I've been marking all my returned rolls with a solid black stripe around the base of the roll and also marking my boxes. At least I'll know if it is someting I've sorted....
Curious as to others thought on this topic. -------------
40 year old guy trying to look out for my family. My great country is headed for the dumpster....and worst yet, no one knows/cares it is happening.....
With the nickels it is not a problem.. I just keep them all. With cents I don't mark the individual rolls but I mark the boxes I turn in with the "Mark of Zorro" ..a big giant "Z" for zinc in case I get the same box of cents back someday.
I reroll all my pennies in the plastic wrappers and mark them... actually, I sort mine by year and mint mark, so I put the year and mint mark on the rolls. I don't give back my zincs right now, though. I have spent a couple rolls of icky corroded pennies at the store, which I mark with an X in magenta sharpie.
