I was hand sorting the other day and came across a wheat penny that seemed about half as thin as normal, very light, but still had all the visable features on front and back. I was wondering if maybe it had been acidized. Just curious how much of a penny's surface can be removed to still have all of the die marks still visable. Date, lincoln, wheats were still very visable.
Could this be an error of some sort, or altered in some way.
I'll get some pictures up tonight. Was really weird.
