How do I tell if a 2003-S is silver? apparently 2 million clad were made and 1 million silver.

Buying:
Peace/Morgan G+ at $15.00
copper cents at 1.3X
wheat pennies at 3X

what does the edge look like? Is the tell tale copper on the edge?

"Rich," the Old Man said dreamily, "is not baying after what you can't have. Rich is having the time to do what you want to do. Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark

If that doesn't help, drop it on the table and hear the distinctive sound of silver.

I would imagine they have different weights so a digital scale should tell too.

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

Cut it in half....

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

I've been lucky enough to find one of the newer 90%'ers while sorting.
There is no doubt about it when you find one, no Cu edge stripe at all.

There's profit if you melt things!!

That stinks. For the record here are the weights:

2003-S copper nickel 5.67 grams (same as regular business strikes)
2003-S silver 6.25 grams (same as pre-1965 silver quarters)

Lol oops. For some reason I was thinking it was a quarter but have no idea where I got that idea from.
