Since a lot of us are stocking up on lots of beans and rice as our dietary base, this site can help us mix and match different bean types with different dishes we might want to make. Great Northern beans don't make a mean burrito the way black beans do.

Presoaking rice may be one of the better ways to reduce cooking time. Here's an interesting tidbit:

When you open the package, you see this fortification in the form of a powdery substance. If you wash the rice, you will be washing away the added nutrients.
