I stopped a small bank today and got $25 in pennies. The last time I was here I got a 1928 and 1929 canadian.

This time I got 40 wheat cents out of the $25. This is better than I have been getting out of most of the bags I sort.

The wierd thing was that 37 of the 40 contained the "S" mint mark. I don't think that I have gotten a dozen "S" of any kind in the last 500K pennies. One was even a nice 1911S.

I got a 1929 Canadian also. Very unusual deep brown color to the metal when compared to other pennies. Are these bronze? Pure copper?
