| Depends on who you ask. Some say its ruins the coin but when you have a dateless buff, you might get 10-25 cents for it. You reveal the date and who knows you might get a key date... |

As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?

| I would agree to any coin but when there is no date, its basically worthless. Guess you could make jewlery out of it. Use the acid to reveal the date and you might find a coins that is worth a lot more than a hunk of metal even if its been acid treated. But to each his/her own. I perfer to see dates and dont mind applying the acid. |

First time I've seen stamping on a Buff obverse. |

I think I must have posted this on the wrong thread. Anyway, my wife has begun hand sorting nickels (she leaves the cents to me  ). She has gone through quite a number of rolls without finding anything 'major' ... a few war nickels but no key dates. Then last night she found a very nice (G condition-full date) 1934 P. We were pretty excited. But we got even more excited when she found another Buffalo, this one even better condition, at least a VG, full date, and partial horn. 
She's really excited and hoping to find a Liberty/'V' nickel now. We'll see...
