I think my last two boxes I found 1 40%. This has been a drought for me lately. The one thing I have noticed is that some of the halves are marked on the side with black marker? Interesting? Anyone else in the DC area doing this? |

Another box of halves last night.... skunked again. then I found $9 in lose havles with the teller. Skunked there also.
I have noticed that some of the havles have been marked. Interesting? Competition? |

$180 of CWR Halves
Skunked
I talked to the teller and she tells me she has tons of halves. She tells me the bank doesn't order halves, it's generally the same person who drops them off and that she knows people are sifting halves.
I have found 5 NIFC and 1 40% in $950 CWR from there.
I think I've been getting halves from someones dump bank. Would anyone continue to get halves from there? |

you have an option to either switch banks or keep plugging away at it. The thing about other prospector's dump bank is that you're going to get tons of skunks because they're depositing a lot faster than normal customers. But mixed into those skunks will be silver veins. It's up to you whether or not you want to pursue it or try and find easier pickings. I've purposefully dumped on a bank vault that I know has silver to prevent other prospectors from accessing it until I'm ready to start prospecting at that bank.
The vault I'm pulling from now was used as someone's dump bank sometime in the past. I've been gettting tons of rewrapped NFString rolls. But I've also found some pretty staggering amounts of silver from this same bank before I hit the current string of skunks. I've mentioned a couple of the finds in this thread in the past. I've hit roughly $25k of the other prospector's skunks so far, and I will keep going until I deplete the entire vault. My hope is that there is more older boxes beneath the thick skunk layer.
