Found my 2nd ever wild Indian! This one is a 1906 in average circulated condition. It will look nice next to his brother. |

Found my first!
1901 in a $50 bank bag. The edge has some damage, and can’t make out liberty.

Since no one would let my me in the club on an honarable mention for my civil war token, I figured that I would have to find a real IH. Got a 1906 today. I got it out of a bag. I was thinking about giving up on the bags from this bank because the last 7-8 bags only had a few wheats each. I guess I will keep getting them.
Also, the same old lady who was bringing in her dads coins last year is back and dumping coins at the counter in this bank. I will probably start buying dimes and qtrs again to see what i get. |

Hi! I just joined the forum, but have been reading your posts for some time. You all are a hoot! Your posts make me laugh.
I inquired about ordering 1/2 dollars from my CU. They said I had to order $1,000.00 worth! So instead, they said they had $50 bags of pennies I could pick up. I did and brought home my 1st bag. Here's my haul:
1 1906 IH - nice condition - all words very readable! 22 Wheat (including 1918D, 1928, 1935, 1948S & 1952S) 5 Canadian copper (including a 1957) 1 (maybe 2) what appears to be a mint error: a clipped penny (1 side flat like a tire) 1643 plain coppers 6 Lincoln Birthplace (just for fun!)
Overall 33.5% copper if the Canadians are included. What was strange was a small sample I took before I began my count at home (63 coins) had 21 copper - 33.3%. My actual population was almost exactly the same as the very small sample!
Actually my son found the IH cent! His first (and mine) in the wild!
Keep up the good work everyone! Thanks! |
