I am pretty new to hoarding pennies and want to know do you still keep your zink pennies? Or do you go to the bank and cash them in?
Also where do you store your copper pennies and if you do keep your zink pennies where do they go?

Zincs, back to the bank(s), usually as soon as possible as that is more penny money tied up. Coppers stay at home with me.

| I changed my approach to Zinc, at first I was cashing them all in, then I started keeping all 82' Zincs in good shape, especially the small date D mint, (did you know there are 7 different varieties of the 82 penny?) then I started keeping really shinny zincs in great shape from 83 - 2008's. Once I get a roll or two of each year and each mint, I will start cashing all Zincs in again. I even separate out shinny coppers and S-mints from the copper pile to keep in a separate container and re-roll the junk coppers and fill up $25 boxes and keep them on a storage shelf in a cool dry basement. |

| I cash back in the zincs, try to get them in as soon as possible. The coppers I re-roll and put them in plastic shoeboxes from Dollar General. |

| I've been putting copper in coffee cans or any plastic container I can reuse then store in the basement. I save good condition zincs in a box for now. the rest of the zincs back to the bank asap. |

I wonder if an entire eight piece '82 collection would do any good on EBay? I've had fun putting them together, I'm hoping the next generation (or the one after) might realize a numismatic premium from my efforts. |
