Thanks to all that shared in my joy of finding 16 wheat cents in one roll on Christmas morning.
Today's find was even more amazing, incredible, practically unbelievable--and I am still shaking with excitement.
The first roll I opened this morning had 50 coins. That's always a nice beginning.
Then I discovered a 1975 Cinco Centavos from Mexico. It is cool looking. The roll also contained two 1946 Canadian one cent coins--one of the King George pennies but I don't think it is the earlier one. Still good in my book, though.
I was also fortunate to find one steel penny from the US. It has some rust on it but the rest is nice and shiny. The best one I have ever found.
Now the truly unbelievable part. So much so that I jokingly asked my husband if he was playing a trick on me by putting some of my found wheats into a roll. He wasn't--I checked my small jar of wheats and they were all there. I found 35 wheat cents in this one roll not counting the steel penny. The really strange part of this roll was out of the remaining eleven coins only two were the non-wheat copper years. And, the newest of the pennies was a 2005. Doesn't make a bit of sense to me at all.
Here is a rundown on the wheats I found, not including the steel which was a D mintmark.
1-1919 -- 1-1920 -- 1-1929 -- 1-1939 -- 1-1940 -- 4-1941
1-1942 -- 2-1944 -- 1-1944D -- 1-1945 -- 1-1946D -- 1-1947D
1-1948 -- 1-1950 -- 1-1951D -- 1-1952 -- 1-1952D -- 1-1953
2-1953D -- 1-1954D -- 1-1955 -- 1-1955D -- 2-1956 -- 3-1956D
2-1957D -- 1-1958D
I was so excited that I had to call my brother who has been a coin collector for many, many years and even he was amazed.
Even though there wasn't an IH in this roll--still hoping to find one in the wild--I am extremely excited.
Just had to share my joy and excitement again with all of you. Continued success to everyone.
Enjoy.

Congrats on the IH. I must believe, I must believe, I must believe. Hopefully, I will find one someday in a roll of pennies.

| Nice roll! That one roll alone almost matches my best amount for wheats in a single box...lol. Dont worry about the Indian...it will come. I got my first one during my last two box sort. |
My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

Thanks, everyone. Nothing spectacular really to report after that first roll yesterday morning. But, I have had fun sorting every roll I opened. That is worth a lot to me.
Enjoy. |
