If it has been mentioned on other topics I have only seen it little. But does it not deem a topic all its own? I have my own questions on this for survival purposes. Would it be best to buy the purified drinking water from stores, or distilled water? Or what about filtered tap water? Would that store well or would additives be needed?

Learn methods of filtering and purifying your own water.

Learn about storing large amounts of water needed for extended survival purposes.

Try this;

You must be logged in to see this link.

Click on "water" in left hand column.

In general, you should consider purchasing this book as a information guide should the net go down .

It might be a good idea.

24? think of this.......how much water can you save and after that water is gone then what?

Don't think of water for therty days but for ten years......after you get ready for 10 years then you will no longer worry about water.

My own water comes from a creek by gravity and for free......but........I still have a 2,500 and a 550 gallons water tanks that are full at all time....in my eight years here I have never ran out of water.

This thread hadn't had replies in a while, so I thought I'd throw out this search link:

here are a few ideas to supplement.

the most likely emergency is a temporary one, ala katrina.

I got a couple of food grade 55 gal. barrels from craigs list. I'm going to fill some with filtered municipal water as a back up and afix some under my downspouts as rain barrels. there is a youtube video that shows you how to convert them to rain barrels.

3 of these are a 6-month supply of drinking water. of course the rainwater you should filter but I have a few extras just for drinking.

Buying:
Peace/Morgan G+ at $15.00
copper cents at 1.3X
wheat pennies at 3X

Put in a well with a hand and/or solar pump. It is easier and cheaper (if you do it yourself) than most people think depending on your location. It just takes a big hammer, some muscles, and a few other odds and ends. Send the water off to be tested and you are set for years to come....
