Anyone ever come across a penny with a perfect cross punched out of its middle? I came across one (copper 1980) today hand sorting. Anyone know the story behind it?

I searched google and this is what I found.......

These pennies have been such a blessing not only to my live but to may others who did not know the Lord. They are one of the BEST Tools for Evangelism. I will leave one as a tip with my tip in restaurants and sometimes the waiter/waitress will ask about the penny why is there a cross punched out on it.This is also true about when I go into a buissness to pay for a purchase when I pull out my coins I always keep some in with my loose change. Or just a few left around my office for folks to see. They will ask questions about them and this leaves me open to witness to them. I tell them that the cross in the penny reminds me each day to Pray and to thank God for dying for our sins upon that cross at Calvery, and for all He has done in my life.How God had cahnged my life from complete hopeless life of hell to a wonderful life through Him. There for I can look forward to having Enternal Life through Him. And for those who do not know the Lord as their Lord and Savior will want to know how they can have this Enternal Life. This leaves the door wide open for me and others who uses these pennies to possibly bring a lost sheep to the Lord. I want to thank Cross Penny Ministries for making these pennies,keep up the great work. May you be blessed in all you do.

| I found one with an angel, too, that is punched out. I found the penny just a few days before my husband's recent hospitalization and it gave me peace throughout his complications & extended stay. |

I've seen people wearing them on a necklace.
Have found a cross in a penny & a nickel - also a penny with a star cut out and a small hole bored in it for wearing purposes. |

I have often seen them on cards in stores. They usually have all sorts of shapes with poems or something attached.

I took the above link a step further and apparently there are numerous shapes cut out of pennies. I had no idea.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
