Sportsdude1325...I can't help you with what you are asking but others on here probably can.

However, I can say welcome aboard.

I know on the subject of building a machine, after all is said and done for me, the ryedale was the best and cheapest course after you figure in time, design, redesign, etc. I don't try to re-invent the wheel. Good luck though and welcome to the forum brother.

Welcome to the site. I say save time and money and just buy a Ryedale.

Plain and simple.

I'll tell you, I bought the wei-ya and had lousy results with it. If you want to give it a shot, it's yours for $20 shipped in the US, wiring pigtail included. I'm having much better luck with a used Coin Mech MC-40 comparitor. Models CC-16, MC-16, CC-40, and MC-40 are the ones that seem to be the most common. All the models are available in several different voltages, so make sure you know what you're getting- some of them run off 13VAC, and I don't know where the hell you get that other than a slot machine. Try to get one guaranteed good/tested/certified whatever, as they're pretty complex to fix if they get out of tune. I got mine from "onehotgamegirl" *rolls eyes* on feebay.

I'm currently trying to work out a good way to feed it...

Cheers,

Considering Verizon Business service? Perhaps you'd like to consider a nice drain cleaner enema instead?

Or just save the pain and get a Ryedale sooner then later. Better spend your time and money sorting coins on that Ryedale instead of trying to duplicate a Ryedale.

I had the same thought until I bought a used apprentice. It's either monkey around with a design for months and months, trying all sorts of parts. The rydale apprentice will not let you down. I bought a used one last week for 300 and it will sort through coins quicker than I could ever supply. I say buy a ryedale and maybe in your spare time while it's sorting build a backup using the experimental stuff.

I tried to make one of my own. It worked, but took almost as much time as hand sorting. I finally broke down and ordered the Ryedale. I have not complaints about the ryedale.

Welcome to the forum and good luck

Pretty much all of us here that either made our own machines or started to make our own machines ended up buying a Ryedale later. Andy has gone through all the frustration, experimentation and hassle of getting something to work right.. including the coin feeding device, and sells the finished product which works wonderfully for a very reasonable price. When you start figuring out what your time is worth, and what it will cost to try to develop a working unit, it is pretty easy to come to the conclusion that you will be much better off buying the machine that was specifically developed to do this. Plus, the builder/inventor is one of us.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

To add to Hoard's comment, we also provide a great support group for the Ryedale. No one to help you with the glitches in the homemade unit.

And to Lemon Thrower - I have a machine that sorts silver dimes and US from steel Canadian from Ni Canadian - it's my Ryedale. Course I can also just lay out the coins on a table and spot the silver by the hue of the coins.

Are you actually still finding silver coins in circulation? Anybody?
