Hi,
Due to a lack of satisfaction with the existing HoardCode, I am proposing another standard: the CollectorCode.
The CollectorCode is similar to the HoardCode, but allows for more flexibility and takes into account uncertainty. It is also, as the name implies, more aimed at coin collectors than penny/nickel hoarders.
Here it goes:
Global options (can be used in any field) ? (Don't know) X (Refuse to disclose)
1. "CollectorCode:" (no quotes)
2. Gender Valid options M/F.
3. Age (in years).
4. Forward slash
5. How long you've been collecting coins (in years).
6. Colon
7. Country you currently live in US (United States) CA (Canada) Other (List full country name)
8. Colon
9. Base metals you collect Separated by colons, enter each type of coins you collect.
9a. Follow country codes/full country name as in 6. 9b. Value of coin you're collecting (in smallest unit of country). 9c. Abbreviation or name of coin you're collecting. Here are abbreviations: P (Pennies) N (Nickels) D (Dimes) Q (Quarters) H (Half Dollars) Others (List full name of coin) 9d. Four-digit mint year which you collect this coin up to and including. Leave blank for current year.
-AND/OR-
9a. If you collect coins from any country you can, rather than list everything here, simply add the letters "AO" to the list of collected coins.
NOTE: Exclude all precious metal coins from this column, including War Nickels and silver-containing Half Dollars if you collect only those.
10. Forward slash
11. Amount of precious metals you currently own, separated by colons
11a. Periodic table name for metal Au (Gold) Ag (Silver) Pt (Platinum) Pd (Palladium) Rh (Rhodium) 11b. Amount, in ounces, that you own (rounded up to the nearest whole number.)

Here is my CollectorCode, which I will be adding to my signature:
CollectorCode: M22/?:US:US1P1958:US5N1961:CA1P:AO/Ag8
Explained: Male, 22, Don't know how long I've been collecting coins (at least 2nd grade), live in US, collect wheat cents (1958 and earlier pennies are wheats), collect 1961 and earlier nickels, collect all Canadian pennies, collect everything else from any other country, currently own about 8 ounces of silver.

What do you think? Any suggestions?
