Another newb question here...
I just got a quote for 10,000 Canadian pre-1996 cents. They are asking $1,100 for them. That's $0.11 each! Granted, this is from a coin dealer (i.e., not a metals dealer), but this seems really skewed with respect to what US Cu cents are bringing (at spot). Even if I factor in some large unknown numismatic premium, this still seems crazy.
At spot, pre-1986 US cents are worth 73% more than their face. How can it be that Canadian pre-1996 cents are worth 1000% more than their face?
Maybe the dealer thought I was a flake and just wanted to get rid of me?
Still looking for a liquid market for US Cu cents...
