As some of you know today was the day that I was suppose to get my new box of halves from a new bank. Well, its not really a new bank but its the first time ordering halves through this bank. I've been waiting 10 days for this order. It came in today as a box of Susan B. Anthony dollars. The girl ordering made a mistake. I found out she doesn't work at the bank any more. I'm afraid I may have been partly responsible for her termination. I'm not sure. Anyways, I didn't get my halves but they are back on order. I went to another bank looking for halves. Any halves. When I asked the teller she says...How many halves do you want? (Always a good sign) I tell her I have a little over $500.00 on me and she says she has $525.00. I say..I'll take all of those. She brings out dollar coins. Apparently she misunderstood me. I am gonna have to start saying "fifty cent" pieces instead of "half dollars".

Nice that people that work with money everyday have no idea really what they are doing. Seems to be wide spread.

Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

When the tellers ask me how many I want as is "we have a ton of them," I get suspicious. Are they someone else's dump? I generally will buy $50-100 and then check them in the car. If they are good, I get the rest. If they have and "x" on the roll or are skunks, I leave the rest be.

The other day a teller tried to tell me that they hadn't made Eisenhower dollars since 1964. LOL |

Everytime I ask a bank if they have half dollars and they say yes they ask me how many I want. Sometimes thats $10 sometimes its $1000 worth. I wouldnt get to suspicous unless you know of other hunters near you |

I buy any and all CWR's I find (unless they have my searched ring on them). Not always finding Silver, but when I do it's solid rolls on several occasions. I prefer CWR's over boxes, but I am limited because of my location and take whatever I can get. And don't forget it's Silver Santa Season! |
