I finished the two weekly ordered boxes of halves that almost always are skunks and these were skunks as well. After about 14 - 16 boxes, I have gotten maybe 6 silver halves. On a brighter note, I decided I was gonna go to a few banks today and I had business in an area that is only 5 miles from two small towns with 3 banks. One of those banks had $340.00 of halves in the vault. All rolls were from the same person and I got fourteen 40% halves from those. I also bought the loose halves and there was a 1955 franklin, which is my fourth franklin. All in all, not a bad day I guess. This tuesday, I am supposed to be able to pick up an "ordered" box of halves from a bank I've never ordered from before. The halves I have been getting skunked on come from Birmingham. Maybe these new ones will be coming from somewhere else. I've got to figure out what to do about the skunks I have been getting from my "ordered" boxes. Change banks maybe. Any ideas?

Yes, change banks. I had a nice steady pickup that was just like that, and I dropped them. I'm doing much better now.
BTW: My experience (and that may only be in my area) is that I do better from midsized banks, like 30 - 80 branches.
The same goes for nickels. Pennies seem to be better from large banks.

Thanks fb, and red. I looked up the 55 franklin and it seems to go for about twice what other franklins go for. $15.00 is the average price I think. This is the only franklin of the four that I have, that I can read some of whats on the bell. It says...Pass and Stow with the word "Philadelphia" underneith.

Very nice to find the 1955 half. That was a very good year.

Continued success.
