Went to my credit union today and cleaned them out of pennies (well they wouldn't let me have the last 1.50 worth). They said they don't order coins and only have what customers bring into them. All rolls are hand rolled then. Is this a positive? I have yet to get a single 50 cent piece out of them. Rolls so far have about %20 Cu and about a wheat per 4 rolls.
Correct. Most credit unions use what they have and don;t order. We have one I was just talking to and they said they just took their pennies to the bank the day before. Bank, I said? Which one? Turns out they use my dump branch with the machine!
The silver [is] mine, and the gold [is] mine, saith the LORD of hosts. Hag 2:8 [/b] He created it. He controls it. He gave it to us for His use. Why did we turn from sound scriptural currency that PROTECTS us?
It's allways nice when you find a Credit Union that lets you buy the bags out of the coin counter. Always ask if they have one, you'd be suprised how easy it is at some and how they indicate you'd be running afoul of the law at others.
My CU sells their coins to Chase for processing. I tried to buy the coin bags from them but their policy is no. Just as well, I found out later that their counter puts all denominations in the same bag.

I've run into a few like that. They don't really know what's in the bag for sure. (Or so they say)
