1) The 20th Century produced many notable coin designs, from the 1909 Lincoln cent to the 2000 Sacagawea dollar. It was a time when national heritage replaced allegory, when real Americans replaced Lady Liberty, and places graced the reverses of coins. One popular allegorical motif lingered... the 13 stars representing 13 original colonies. Thirteen stars were used on many 19th century coins, both obverse and reverse. However, few 20th Century coin designs feature Thirteen Stars. They are present on the Standing Liberty Quarter and the Susan Anthony dollar. Are there any others?
2) Did Canada mint any quarters in 1997 or 1998? How about half dollars in 2003 or 2004? Loonies in 1997-2001?

| A quick review of the RCM annual reports indicates there were no CIRCULATING 2003 or 2004 half dollars produced (though 177,000 and 12,000 respectivley were issued to "sundry persons"). No CIRCULATING dollar coins were produced in 1998-2001. No CIRCULATING quarters are listed as produced in 1998. I was unable to find 1997 production data. |

| I am glad i reread this before i posted.. I dont think there is a 20th century coin with stars on both sides unless you count the barber head quarter, and half dollar which carried over into the 20th century |

I'm not counting the Barber designs. Those designs were created in 1892, not the 20th century. |

Stars on the reverse of the Eisenhower dollar. Bicentennial quarter has them on the reverse. None that I can think of that have them on both sides.

Thirteen on reverse, several on front. Does it have to circulate to count?
