I spent black friday dealing in silver at my local dealer in Erie. He called me today to tell me my order of two one hundred ounce bars of silver were in. When I went to pick them up I noticed they were two one hundered ounce Engelhard bars instead of the two Ohio Precious Metals bars I thought I was getting. He explained that a client just sold them to him and that the bars I ordered hadn't arrived yet. "Better yet" I told him. But the strange thing is that my horoscope for the week said that a business deal would not go the way I had planned but would work out even better for me in the end. I seldom read my horoscope but it makes you wonder........
He also told me he could get me all the 90% junk silver I wanted and I could see him packing a $1000 face bag of 90% with Franklin half dollars. But he was still having a hard time getting .999. It appears that there just is not the demand for 90% as small bar physical. But when you consider the spread over spot for the two are so close then I too would rather have .999. (But to each his or her own.)
He made a call and he could get me 5 more one hundred ouce bars (not Engelhard I'm sure) @ $12.65 per ounce. No tax, no shipping costs, cash and carry. When I asked about adding for more ten ounce bars he said he would do so at the same price per ounce and eat rest on the deal. So I ordred 540 more ounces from him at $12.65 per ounce. It is ready to ship and I should have it by next week Saturday.
So fair warning! Expect a price drop next week. Murphy's Law at work.

Wow!
If you run out of room to store all that, I'm only about four and a half hours away. I can rent you a plot in the backyard |

Now that's a nice way to spend a day in Erie! Was it sunny enough that you didn't need a hat and coat? I wish I could come close to your kind of volume. For now I'll have to content myself with sorting Halves, unless I'm willing to pay the NWT mint mark up. Good score AL, keep it up. |

I really only made a swoop up to Erie and back. I wanted to avoid the "Peach Street jam" on Black Friday. If I keep this buying up I think my wife is going to make me dip into my nickel hoard to fund it. I hit a little snow up in Erie but today was sunny and very nice weather for November 29th up this way. |

Glad you can laugh... I ordered 40 SAE's last night, before the $1.02 drop.... Someone call the Whambulance!
FWIW, APMEX is offering SAE's in any quantity for only $3.49 over spot, today only.

Well like my wife says, "You don't have a crystal ball and we are buying for the long term. It will go back up." Try to think of it this way, when silver hits the moon again we will only regret the silver we didn't buy and not the silver we bought. |

Amen. Besides, they're only FRN's I spent!
Half of the order is a (belated) wedding present for my niece and her husband. I'm gonna have a little fun when I deliver them. I'll give each of them a pair of nitrile gloves to put on before they unwrap the coins. That'll get them wondering.."What is my crazy uncle up to this time?"

Lucky guys. I worked on black friday. Well not really worked, it was more of a hanging out at a customer and getting a free lunch out of it.
I worked on a few websites, but can't really consider that work.

I got my order today. Five new one hundred ounce bars and 40 new silver rounds instead of the four ten ounce bars (same price). I placed the order late in the day on Black Friday and they call about noon today for me to come and pick them up. |

Dang, I remember when I used to use Engelhard 100 oz. bars for doorstops they were so cheap. Wish I had never sold those. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available. |

I guess I should stop looking at stuff on APMEX and just drive to upper peach street. I drive past there all the time, but they are closed in the evenings. |

They are open Sat.& Sundays. The one hunderd ounce bars I bought were just like these. You must be logged in to see this link. I suppose one can order directly from them. Their bars do stack very well since they interlock together. |

Alternative healthcare practitioner.....but my business has leveled off like just about everyone else around here this fall. Those bars are the bulk of my wife's and my Christmas gifts to each other. At least that is what we call it when we make an investment like that at Christmas time. She is hardcore when it comes to preping for our future and more excited about getting them than I am. |
