Been sorting dimes and got a 1943 merc. Thats silver dime number 14 and merc number 4. Y'all got any mercs with mints? Mine have no mints.

If you go to your local dealer and look thru his junk silver, you will find with mints. Most I have though are "p" or no min mark. Some denvers and a few San fransiscos. |

Just something I would like to add. This applies to dime sorters. If you get a brinks box with the plastic see through rolls and think that you will be able to see all the silver dimes by looking through the plastic at the edges, you may miss some. |

I would think with good lighting it would be very tough to miss. |

Oober, thats what I thought. But I examine the edges through the plastic, and then I face examine them, and very often I miss one. This is with my reading glasses on. I think what happens is that the copper side of one dime sometimes is placed against the silver in another dime and it gets seen as one coin, with that copper/nickel or whatever that combo is. |

I've got a few Mercs S's and D's. I'd like more, but dime sorting is my last resort. I'd rather separate Copper from Zink than sort dimes. Old hands and eyes, Halves are easier and pay off better (in my opinion). |
