I just picked up 4 brinks boxes from bofa today and I opened it up and to my surprise nearly all dull brown was staring back at me. The box ended up being 96% copper. I agree with the other guy who had the same thing happen. Brinks must have a stash of copper and are now unloading it because the price of copper has gone down. What other explanation could there be for that much copper in a single box?

It's never happened to me before. Awesome for you guys. You really think Brinks is letting them go and not a hoarder who just gave up? Imagine all the money wasted by Brinks in sorting the copper out just to return it to circulation if that is true.

| OK so here are the official #'s. 2122 were copper pennies out of 2550 (I had an extra roll that I threw in with this lot) for a total of 83% copper and 27 Wheat Pennies. Additionally, out of 115 1982 pennies 100% of them were copper so I think it is safe to say that considering NONE of the 1982's were zinc that these had been previously sorted and now they are unloading them for some reason. Unless of course it's just dumb luck but I doubt it. |

Deal
Mine was way prior to the price of copper tanking so I don't think it was Brinks or anyone else dumping. Anyway, if Brinks is dumping they should try our Buy, Sell, Trade forum first. |

Congrats on the high percentage. I'm in the same boat as Deal, in fact my percentages have actually dropped a little. About a full percent since I started last spring.
I'm more inclined to believe a fellow hoarder who didn't have the intestinal fortitude, gave up and cashed out. You were in the right place at the right time.

If enough are turned at once there is definitely a possibility of getting a high copper percentage in a Brinks box or several boxes.
