I know this is a common coin, but anyways, if I were to grade it, I would unbiasly give it a AU 54-58. WHat's a decent price for it. I will tell what I payed after I get a few responses.

Thanks all.

I am rating it in this range, because. I see pretty much no wear on any high points, using a 10x loupe, and only some scrathes that are visible with naked eye, but are not highly noticable in good light source.

My Nov price guide has the AU-50 at 17.90and the MS-60 at $29.
I suppose with your grading it would be about $22.50

?? IF there's no wear on the high points, why are you calling it AU?
Have you checked the tail feathers for wear?

I am a new collector, but the tail feathers look pretty good. I can't tell there is much wear at all using a 10x loupe, with a good light source.

Being in the industry I am, I know when I look (45-60deg from the plane of the surface you are looking at) at something made of metal, shaft, bearing. with the proper lighting. Wear will look slightly polished. I have no spots like that anywhere on this coin.

BU, AU, VF, XF are somewhat skewed as I have not looked at a bunch of coins and discussed value/grades with more experienced people. I would with my dealer, but I really don't want to let him know I am a complete noob.

Anyways I paid $20 for the coin.

It sure is purty!!

I'll give you he textbook definition of AU in a Morgan.
Obverse:
"Only a trace of wear will show on the hair just above the ear and on the high points above the forehead."
Reverse:
"Only a trace of wear will show on the highest point of the breast and head"
Many people have unofficially called the tail feather tips and the talons as high points also.

Best I can do for you....
