I picked up another box of halves, a box of dimes, and a box of nickels at the bank today. On the first roll of halves, I found a 1969 kennedy. I thought my luck with ordered boxes of halves had changed. I've went through another 29 rolls with nothing. I'm not complaining because I have had compensation with customer wrapped rolls I have been buying. The box of dimes had a 1959 roosevelt. I found that with my first pass, looking through the plastic at the edges. I have found that I have to look at the face of the dimes. Its possible to miss a silver looking only at the edges. What are y'all finding?

I got one silver dime for a copper clad dime by scanning the teller's tray and asking her if she would sell it to me.
One of my more memorable coin purchases was when I was chatting about Canadian coin with a teller and she mentioned that they had a box they had accumulated over the last couple of years and I could look at it. When I found a silver dime, 7 pure nickles, and a King cent they actually figured the current discount rate into the transaction when I asked to purchase them! |

It depends on the banks policies but most bank tellers are allowed to swap their own personal money out for anything interesting they find. |
